Building PMPrompt - AI-Powered Product Management Tools

projects

I recently launched PMPrompt, a curated collection of AI prompts for product managers and AI tools for PMs. The goal is simple - help PMs save time and be more effective by leveraging AI in their daily workflow.

Why Build PMPrompt?

As a product manager, I found myself repeatedly writing similar documents - PRDs, user stories, release notes, etc. While there are plenty of templates out there, I wanted something more dynamic that could adapt to different contexts while maintaining consistency.

Enter AI. With the right prompts, AI can help generate first drafts of these documents in seconds rather than hours. But crafting effective prompts is an art in itself. That's where PMPrompt comes in - providing battle-tested prompts for common PM tasks.

The AI product management space is rapidly evolving - I've written about the future of AI in product management and market projections through 2025 if you're interested in the bigger picture.

Key Features

The core of PMPrompt is the prompt library, with tools like:

Each prompt is designed to produce output that follows best practices while being customizable to your specific needs.

The Tech Stack

I built PMPrompt using my go-to modern Laravel stack:

The stack choice was deliberate - I wanted something I could iterate on quickly while maintaining flexibility for future features. Laravel's ecosystem makes it easy to add authentication, handle payments via Stripe, and manage user data.

What's Next

This is just the beginning. I'm continuously adding new prompts based on feedback from the PM community. Some features in the pipeline:

Try It Out

If you're a product manager looking to streamline your workflow, check out PMPrompt - AI for Product Managers. The basic prompts are free to use, and I'd love to hear your feedback on what other tools would be helpful.

Building PMPrompt has been a fun side project that scratches my own itch as a PM while hopefully helping others in the process. It's a great example of how AI can augment (not replace) product management work.
